Wassa Wassa Workshops & Sadjo Sissokho

25th May 2012, Twisted Pepper,  Middle Abbey Street @ 7pm

Concert to celebrate Africa Day 2012. Featuring Sadjo Sissokho, Foliba Percussion, Rwandan Dance and Congolese Cuisine. . The Kora is a 21 string West African harp and like other master Kora Players Sissokho has developed his repertoire through the oral tradition of West African cultures.

This concert will feature singing and solo pieces from Sissokho and pieces with djembe and dundun accompaniment, Rwandan Dance from Ganishya Troupe and new Dublin based percussion group Foliba.

African food will be available in the venue on the night.

Pathways to Africa will offer the general public an opportunity to have a hands-on experience of African Culture at its best. Nansady is a world-renowned performer and his reputation and musical abilities will no doubt attract a wide range of eager participants to this event. West African Percussion has been hailed by many as the most popular art form to emerge from the African continent and this event will be a real opportunity for us to promote the aims & objectives of Irish Aid & Africa Day and to raise awareness about the work of Irish Aid in Africa in a really positive environment whilst also offering the public a showcase of some of the best international and home-grown African musical talents.
